Directions to Buttercross:
From Bridgwater: Take A39 to Williton (23 miles approx)
From Taunton: Take A358 to Williton (22 miles approx)
At Williton follow A39 towards Minehead for 7 miles.
Fork left at traffic lights to Dunster. (Castle to be seen on left hand side)
Pass car park on left.
Option 1:
Take next fork to the right – 'The Ball' – 'not suitable for heavy vehicles'
Follow road through archways to end and you will have the Church on the left and the school straight ahead.
Turn right (St George’s Street) and Buttercross is the last house on the right hand side (some 200-300 yards). You will see restriction speed signs just past the house at the brow of the hill. Park as close to the house wall as you are able. In front of the green doors is fine.
Option 2: If you miss the turning to the Ball, go straight through the village to the traffic lights.
Follow completely through the two sets of lights and take the first on the right (St George’s Street) and Buttercross is approximately 600 yards on right hand side.
From Tiverton (28 miles approx)
Follow signs to A396 into Dunster
Turn left at traffic lights into George's Street.
Pass school on left hand side.
Buttercross is the last house some 200-300 yards on right hand side.
You will see restriction speed signs just past the house at the brow of the hill. Park as close to the house wall as you are able. In front of the green doors is fine.
